Notes
The Cuts Show came out of a touring stage show of same name, performed by Counteract, a Gulbenkian Trust funded small scale nationally touring arts organisation. The show toured for about eighteen months in three different versions, performing in a wide range of venues - student unions, conferences, arts and theatre venues, pubs, community centres and in one case at an over night student sit in of their local education offices (Sheffield). As it developed it included sketches/got tighter. The material was written mostly by Steve Skinner. Chris Reason wrote three or four numbers and someone called Dave wrote some words eg 'Cash Flow Blues'. Music performed and arrangements worked out by the CounterAct gang plus other people who helped with vocals etc. Steve Skinner helped to produce the album.
“This L.P. is based on 'The Cuts Show' by CounterAct. The show has been touring all over Britain playing to Anti-Cuts campaigns, trade unions and students. This show is a campaigning show and although a campaigning L.P. is, as yet, unheard of we hope that people do not just listen but also actively take part on both the local and the national level in the opposition to the cutbacks."

Includes A2-sized foldout double-sided insert, with lyrics, illustrations and the following info;
This LP contains the songs and music from The Cuts Show. People who have seen the Show will find the sketches missing. Instead we have written a commentary to accompany the songs. The Show does not have this commentary.

We are a group of socialists working with a wide variety of media. We offer workshops in silk-screen, video, street theatre, and AgitProp drama, lay-out and design, kids plays, inflatables and the use of games. We perform where there is an audience, and we work with students, trade unionists, women’s groups and community groups active in the fight for socialism.
This LP cost over £1.20 to produce. Any surplus we acquire from sales will help fund CounterAct’s future activities.
We would like to acknowledge financial assistance from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
